Accessibility

All buses operated by Porin Linjat Oy, the service provider for Pori public transport, are low-floor buses. In these buses, the area between the front and middle doors is free of steps, making it easier to board and move inside the bus. There are designated priority seats near the front or middle of the bus for passengers with reduced mobility.

Traveling with a wheelchair

Boarding with a wheelchair is done through the middle door of the bus.

A companion of the wheelchair user is responsible for assisting the person when boarding and exiting the bus. If necessary, the companion should also secure the wheelchair in the designated space.

All Porin Linjat Oy buses are equipped with manual ramps capable of supporting 250–300 kg. The combined weight of the wheelchair and its user must not exceed this limit.

There are clearly marked seats for passengers with reduced mobility and those traveling with strollers. Stop buttons are located nearby and are connected to the driver’s panel differently than regular stop buttons.

Passengers with disabilities

Pori public transport does not use the EU Disability Card to grant benefits or discounts. Persons with disabilities and their assistants are not entitled to free travel.

Traveling with a rollator (walking aid)

There is no extra charge for a rollator, but the passenger must pay the normal fare according to the valid fare table. The passenger or their accompanying person must be able to lift the rollator onto the bus and ensure it remains secure and does not move during the ride.

Traveling with a stroller

In Pori public transport, a person traveling with a small child in a stroller or pram is entitled to travel free of charge. Starting from July 1, 2025, one adult may be accompanied by up to two children aged 0–7 free of charge. This includes any child in a stroller or pram. A child single ticket must be purchased for any additional children in this age group.

The person traveling with a stroller or pram must ensure the stroller is supervised at all times and that it does not move during the journey, to avoid any safety risks.
